The housing was designed using Onshape. This case was designed to be comfortable for the users, and available to open and close for easy access to the circuitry if needed. The lid of the enclosure slides easily onto the body of the case through a rail, and is then screwed into place to remain closed. All components fit precisely so that there is no exposure to the inner components.
The wrist band mount for this product is interchangeable with any standard 23mm spring loaded band. These are the types of bands typically used for apple watches. The ears on either end of the body allow for easy access to change wrist bands.
The enclosure was printed at BU SI lab from PLA filament using the Prusa i3 MKS +. This printer uses Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology to produce prototypes.
The greatest difficulty while designing this housing was creating an enclosure to fit the non-uniform dimensions of the soldered components. For future projects, minimizing the space necessary for the circuit components, and better thought-out placement could greatly improve projects like this.
